| Mosshead warbonnet |
 |
| Latin Name: |
Chiorlophis nugator |
| Geographic Range: |
Range is from Alaska to southern California. |
| SCUBA Divers Info: |
| A mosshead warbonnet sort of looks like a decorator warbonnet with a brush cut. It has a lot of small projections from in front of the dorsal fin to behind the eye. They are smaller than the decorator and seem to me at least to be rarer (maybe I just have not figured out where to look yet). Colour is a poor ID tool with this (and many other) fish, the mosshead can be pale brown to bright red.

Beachwalkers Info: |
| This animal does not inhabit the intertidal zone so you are very unlikely to find it beachwalking or tidepooling. |
