Latin Name: pagurus hemphilli
Geographic Range: Range is from Alaska to California.
SCUBA Divers Info:
This hermit crab stands out from the crowd, not only because it is red in colour but also because it's eyes are striped black and gold. It is found in exposed coast areas in British Columbia and I see it most often in current swept spots. Often like in this photos on a kelp stipe.
**B**Beachwalkers Info:
Maybe just maybe on a very low tide you might find this animal from shore but due to its exposed coastal habitat you are putting yourself in danger to go look for it.
