| Geographic Range: |
Range is from Alaska to southern California. |
| SCUBA Divers Info: |
| Another animal whose names comes from a rather obvious attribute.
The large sailfin at the front of the dorsal fin is an easy ID
feature although it can be folded down. During the day this fish
spends its time in crevices and comes out at night to hunt its
prey, small shrimp. |
Beachwalkers Info: |
| This animal does not inhabit the intertidal zone so you are very unlikely to find it beachwalking or tidepooling. |
