This was just a relaxing dive with a few friends to enjoy a nice evening underwater. it turned out to be just that. The visibilty was great fro summer in the lower mainland, say 15 - 20 feet.
We saw a large number of fish including a juvinile yellow-eye rockfish. ther wer also lots of other rock fish mostly copper but of course some yellow-tails. It is really nice to see these fish returning to this area. After 5 years as a marine protected area there is at last starting to be some positive changes in the area. The fish are more plentify and larger. We also saw lots of lingcod including one very large one. For those of you not interested in fish we saw a few nudibranchs including a janolus fuscus. Lots of small hermit crabs, lots of tunicates and a ring top snail. It was just real nice to do a relaxing dive, after all half the fun of diving is getting away from it all. |
