COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Find out from the Newsletter calendar or the office calendar when the committee of your choice is meeting.
Your attendance at every monthly meeting and your contribution are expected and mandatory.
If you are unable to attend a committee meeting, you are required to send your regrets to the chairperson of that committee (phone call or note in the committee's file at the office)

Board of Directors: Is composed of 12 members elected by the General Membership to oversee the management and operation of the Co-op in accordance with the Co-op by-laws. The Board can delegate day-to-day operational activities to committees, staff, or individuals, but is always accountable to the membership. The Board meets at 7:00pm, the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Buildings Committee: Helps ensure maintenance of a sound building structure, ensures good housekeeping and cleanliness on Co-op property with routine inspections, maintenance and work parties for general repairs. The committee meets at 7:00pm, the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Tuesday each month.

Finance Committee: Their mandate is to give advice and recommendation to the Board of Directors and general membership on all financial matters affecting the Co-op. The committee meets at 7:00pm, the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Gardens & Grounds Committee: Oversees the maintenance and improvement of outdoor property and encourages participation by all members in maintaining the gardens and grounds. The committee meets at 7:00pm, the 2nd Wednesday of each month [work parties are usually held twice a month on Saturdays]

Membership Committee: Receives and files applications from prospective Co-op members, interviews and screens applicants in accordance with Co-op policies. The committee makes recommendations to the Board on acceptance or rejection of applicants and maintains internal & external waiting lists. The committee meets at 7:00pm, the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.

Newsletter Committee: Publishes a monthly newsletter to keep the membership informed about the overall operation of the Co-op including the operation of the Board of Directors and of the Committees and their respective meeting times. The deadline for article submission is the 4th Tuesday of each month.

Parent Committee: An informal committee for parents with young children. Kid's Club meets once a week in the family room of the community building. The room is equipped with toys, craft materials and games. Movie Night is held usually the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday of each month. The committee meets at 7:00pm, the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Security Committee: The committee helps protect the physical assets of the Co-op and provide a secure living environment for the Co-op members. The committee meets 7:30pm the 4th Tuesday of each month.

Social Committee: Organizes "Special Events" such as Garage/Bake Sales, family Pot Luck dinners, etc. They supply coffee for the General Meetings and work parties. The committee meets at 7:30pm the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Pool Committee: The committee is in charge of the maintenance of the pool and pool area. Once the pool opens, every member of the committee is responsible for testing the pool's water quality and monitoring that the pool rules are being respected at all times. The committee meets once a month [time & location to be announced]
