RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Member Rights

·The right to an equal voice in how the co-op is operated and how problems can be resolved.
·The right to be informed about the overall operation of the co-op.
·The right to participate in the operation of the co-op, with a clearly defined job which is useful and suits the member's skills and interests.
·The right to training and skills development to improve the quality and scope of their work.
·The right to receive feedback on their work and recognition for contribution made to the co-op.
·The right to quiet enjoyment of their housing unit.


Member Responsibilities


·To pay housing charges in a timely manner.
·To obey the by-laws and policies governing the operation of the co-op. To participate in the operation of the co-op through work on committees, the Board of Directors or other tasks identified from time to time.
·To carry out volunteer work in the co-op in a responsible manner, reporting regularly to the person or committee with whom they are sharing responsibilities.
·To share skills and knowledge freely with other members.
·To offer constructive criticism, praise or suggestions regarding the operation of the co-op.
·To maintain their unit in good physical condition. To respect the right of other members to quiet enjoyment of their homes.


PARTICIPATION

articipation is probably the most debated subject in General Meetings, Board Meetings and Committee Meetings.
Members are required to participate in the co-op a minimum of four hours each month.

There are many ways to participate.
(a) leave your name, unit number, telephone number, and the name of the committee you wish to join with the office.
The information will be given to the committee.
(b) find the date of the committee's next meeting on the calendar page of the "Killarney Gardens Views". o

Or you can contribute by:
·cleaning common areas of apartments
·cleaning the community hall
·delivering co-op mail
·sweeping sidewalks
·pruning hedges
·raking gardens
·tidying up recycling depots
·shovelling snow
·cleaning the grounds
