Fire & Sky
is Firebelly's first full length production combining fire and aerial performance, with dance, theatre and
vocal improvisation. The show is a metaphorical look at tragedy.
The piece is about those experiences which shake us to our very
core, turn our world upside down, and force us to explore the
depths of human pain and suffering. It is about our response to
that suffering, about human frailty and each person's capacity for
cruelty. It is also about the small gestures of kindness we
sometimes find the strength to show one another and our ability to
find hope where there appears to be none. It is about learning to
fly again when living has broken your wings.
A 20 minute "work in progress" excerpt of "Fire & Sky" was recently performed as part of the Dance Allsorts Performance coordinated through New Performance Works at the Roundhouse Community Centre. Check out some more stills from this show.
