Kirby Road Farm

Len and Joan Lightfoot

Courtenay, BC, Canada

About the farm:

Our 25 1/2 acres is located north of Courtenay in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.  We have about 12 acres planted to hay, three woodlots, and the house and garden site.

Our six greenhouses cover a total of over 12,000 sq. ft.  Two of the greenhouses are 70' x 30', three are 70' x 32', and the sixth house is 35' x 32'.  The smaller house can be heated from an oil-fired hot water furnace.

For Sale:

Our farm is listed for sale, if you are interested in buying a nice house, and a new lifestyle, you can contact our realtor, Ron Shann. In the meantime, we have flowering dahlia plants grown from seed, the tomato plants are sold out for this season.  Plants will be available at the Farmers' Market on Saturdays and Wednesdays in June or at the farm.

We still have two fields of good-quality horse hay which we will continue to maintain and harvest for as long as we own the farm.

We  would like to thank all the vendors and customers who have become our friends at the Comox Valley Farmers' Market.  We will be selling our plants at the market in May, and for the rest of the year we will continue to see you at the market, not as vendors, but as customers.
