Australia's east coast is holiday country. With its many beaches, constant sun, Great Barrier Reef and the (sub)tropical weather, Queensland is the touristic center of Australia. Brisbane is the reasonably boring metropolis where, as usual, the biggest part of the population lives. Apart from the beaches, the Far North and the Atherton Tablelands to the east are worth visiting. The wet season, and the deadly box jelly fish season, is from October until March. Our highlights were Fraser Island, the Whitsunday islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Krista's absolute favorite for a quiet few days away from the bustle of the main tourist track is Lennox Head.
