Work related trips to interesting places - is there any better situation to be in? After finishing work, I spent a few days on my own in New Orleans.
I had a bit of an interesting start. I flew there direct from Houston and as I was boarding the plane, I realised I had lost my bank card that afternoon (well, actually, I left it in a bank machine, but it sounds less like it was my own fault if I saw "lost"). Thankfully my colleague lent me cash to tied me over, and I was in America - you can get anywhere and do anything with a credit card! The only thing you need cash for is tipping, and tipping you must do. You can get tennis elbow from tipping in America. But I'll save that whine for another time.
With a limited amount of time, I stayed in the heart of the French quarter where most of the popular tourist activities are. Look at the pictures to see what New Orleans is famous for.
