As everyone asks how a Dutch and a Canadian met up, we thought we'd tell our story. 

History Christmas 1997 We met in a hostel in Sydney, Australia.  Krista was living there while working in Sydney, and Fred stayed there when he first arrived in Australia.
 
Jan - Sept 1998 We travelled in Australia for three months and in Fiji for two weeks.  In between the two, we lived by  Sydney's most famous beach.  Krista was working at a mortgage company, but Fred didn't have a permit that allowed him to work.
 
Sept 1998 - Mar 1999 Our visas for Australia expired, so we both returned to our respective home countries.  Krista moved to Holland in March.
 
Mar 1999 - Nov 2001 We lived in a great apartment in Rotterdam.  We were on the 21st floor, right on the Maas River.  A great vantage point to see all the activity on the water and in the city.  Fred worked for Stork and PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consultants.  Krista worked for Raytheon, then Shell.
 
Nov 2001 - June 2002 We wanted to see a bit more of the world, so we packed up our house, quit our jobs, and bought a plane ticket.  We were in San Francisco for a week, Hawaii for two weeks, New Zealand for two months and  Australia for four months.
 
Present June 2002 - ... Fred's immigration papers were finally processed, and we arrived in Canada in June.  We now call Vancouver home.  Currently, Fred is working for Turnkey Management Consulting and Krista is working for Strydent Software.
