69 Rushen In nominee dei, Amen. The last will and testamt of William Taylor wch departed this life the 25th of June 1637. I Wm Taylor sicke in body but whole in mind and of a perfect memorie, thanks be to God, doe make my last will and testament in manner following. Imprs, I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie God my Creator and Redeemer and my body to be honestlie interred. I bequeath to the poore 1 boule and half a ferled of malt, 1 bould wheate, & a muttone. To Jaine Taylor half a heffer three years old. To Jaine Corkish half of the said heffer. To my grandchild Thos Taylor one swarme bees. To Henerey Corkish one swarme bees. To Wm Taylor one oxe[?]. To my wife Margreat Quaile half a horse. My will is that Thos Taylor my sone and heire shall give and lett to William Shurlogue the crofte that now he dwelleth in, during his naturall life. To Sir Kegge a mutton. I claimane from Martine Stole 10s, from John Tattles 10s, from John Taylor 9s. I constitute and ordaine my daughter Christian Taylor my true and lawfull execr of all my goods moveable & unmoveable. This is my last will and testament as witness: Jo: Kegge, Henerey Gawne, Wm Crobbin, Wm Shurlogue. Itim, my sone Thos Taylor is to have the third parte of the old vessels of the house, as appeareth by his contract bargaine, and noe more. Probat est et Solvit 12d. Note yt these 3 witnesses denieth yt the croft was left unto Wm: Shurlocke but saith that he charded Tho: Tailor to be good unto ye said Shurlocke during his life, as he should deserve h[is] blessing. Inventory: 1 cowe nine yeares old 20s, 1 mare 20s, twelve sheep twixe young and old 2s, 2 blankets 8s, two sheets 8s, certaine treene vessels 8d. The sd witnesses say yt ye sd Testat: did will unto his execr 38s as due debt, & yeinterest to said e---benefit of ye goods of Tho: Tailor for his education. Gilbert Nelson & Jo: Quynie hath bound theselves their heires & assiagnes for forthcoming ye said Invent & to keep the office harmless. Jaine Quaile ye 19th of 8ber entereth her claime for 4 pounds 20s. John Tailor aga[inst] ye execr of Wm: Tailor for 40tie shillings
