In nominee dei Amen: I Tho: Quay sicke weake and 
impotent in bodie but whole & perfect in memorie 
praised bee God doe make this my last will and 
testament in mannor followinge.  
First I commend my soule unto the hande of Almightie 
God and my bodie to bee buried in the parish Church 
of KK St Anne. I leave to the poore at tyme usuall 
to bee distributed between my daughters funeral & my 
owne three ferlote of mault one ferlet wheat, one 
ferlet oate meale, and one muttone and a sheepe:  
I leave to my wife Margaret Quaile all my household 
stuff as cupboard beds fledges sheete blankete pewter 
brasse silver gold or else wtsoever is wthin the 
house to her selfe & she to dispose of the at her 
will and pleasure without molestacione or trouble:  
I appoint and ordaine my sonne Christopher Quay my 
whole and sole executor of all other goode wtsoever:  
I leave unto my sonne Tho: Quay all my part of yt 
debt wch he owes me & is in his hande.  
I leave to my sonne in law Rob: Joyner my part of yt 
debt wch he owes mee. I leave my sonne John Quay 40s 
Mr Robert Calcote owes mee 5 pounds wch hee is to pay 
at lammas next come twelve monthes and I doe bequeath 
the said monie as followeth, 20s to my wife: 20s to 
Robert Joyner 20s to Thomas Quay of Mery, 20s to my 
sonne John Quay, and 20s to my sonne Christopher my 
executor. Mr Calcott hath promised 10s for use wch I 
do leave to be equally dealt as aforesaid between ---:  
I leave my sonne Patrick Quay my part of wt corne hee 
owes mee. I leave & bequeath to my wife my part of 
the whole crop of corne & tymber as will build a seat 
on my grave at the right of the vicar.  
Debts due to the testator:  
Hugh Kissake 10s;  
Mrs Jane Sansbury alias Christin 20s;  
 and ye price of one mutton 4s.   
 Testes: 
 John Cosnahan Vicar, 
 Margaret Quay alias Quaile, 
 Xpo: Quay.                      Probatum et Solvit 12d.                
 Pledge Sr Jo: Cosnahan & the execr who are at lawful yeares 
 & have bound ymselves there heires & execr for ye forthcoming 
 of this goods & to secure the office subpoena double the value.                    
 
 The Inventory of Tho: Quay ---- --- 
 one mare and a horse all praised to 4pounds, 
 hald one oxe 26s, 
 in muttons and --- 16, 40s:  
 Margaret Quaile & Christopher Quay her son --- in the 
 penaltie of 10 pounds to keepe ye office secured ---- 
 for is at lawfull years.                      
 The execr is at lawfull yeares & would not --- 
 his mother sworne to the Invent for ---- have agreed 
 among themselves viz ---- 20: & ye mother.
