24 KK Onchan 1637 The last will & testament of John Loone who departed this life the 6th of July anno 1637. He left the poore 1 bowle of malt, 1 firlett wheate 2 muttons, and the rest at the discrecion of the overseers. It, he left his eldest sonne halfe the teame of oxen & halfe the crop of corne, and half of all gears belonging & necessary for labouringe of the Land; It, he left to his sayd sonne eight sheep, 4 muttons, and a maire. It, to his wife his rydinge horse. It to Sr Jo: Oates a mutton. It to his two yongest Edmond & John Loone his part of Skillicornes corne, and constituted and ordained them his lawfull executors of all his goods moveable and unmovable, and willed his wife to have the keepinge of his children & the benefit of the farme till the children come to lawfull years, whether his wife marryed or not. It, he acknowledged & tooke upon his conscience that he had payd Mr. Squire then under steward all the rents due at Michaelmas 1636 being 4 pounds 4s & 7d, out of wch moneyes the sayd Mr Squire payd him his allowance. It, he left the 4 witnesses supervisors of his children. Witnesses: Donald Loone, Jo: Kewley, Edmund Cro, Donald Crich, jurati. Probat et Solvit 12d. Debts due to ye sayd Jo: Loone: xxx from his father and mother 20s; It, Mallowny Cowne 3s; It, Jo: Skillycorne 2s 6d; It, Robt Crich 12d. Note yt ys codicil wch Jo: Kewley hath offered is to be examined by ye circ & sworne by 3 witnesses, wch he is to returne before y 2 of November. Pledge. Note: yt Jo: Kewley, Donald Leane & Donald Critch upon oath saith that xxx[hidden in fold] John Leane bequeathed to his son in xxxxx Will half his crop of corne & half his team of oxen, he asked his wife whether she xxx willing thereunto, shee sayd she was coxxxxx the farther affirmeth that he left chardge upon his wife to bring up his son at the schoole. An Inventorie of the goods of John Lewne taken the 21 of September 1637 prased by 4 sworne men, Tho Christin, Danold Canell, Phill xxxxx, John Kellye: Imprimis xxxxx and a bullocke pair 4 21s; Item 2 heiffers price 16s; Item, for ther parte of the swine 8s; Item 2 bl--ed & 2 shites price 13s; Itm halfe a fleche 3s; Itm, half a xxrbes bed price 3s 4d, Itm a sacke & a canvice 2s; Item 2 yarde of canvice cloath 8d; Item 1 ould canvice & 2 pxxxxx 16d; Item, 1 barrell 1 fishine, 1 tub wth other same vessel 4s; Item halfe a hogete price 9d; 2 pewter platers xxxx 20d; 1 ould chaire[?] halfe a chiste 16d; halfe a lytell potte 12d; halfe a _atte_ xxxx 6d; Itm a lader, 3 carres & crills[?] price 2s 6d; halfe a mare price 7s, Ite in sheep yonge & ould 23 & halfe sheep 30s; the l---eb prase 7s; 2 yonge goates 2s; The halfe the cropte of corne & halfe the teame of oxen due to the eldest. Pledges Ed: Crow, Donald Leane & Ed: Crow senr, for ye forthcoming of ye goods & to secure ye office subpoena double ye value. The xxxx Corbes: 1 table, 1 briefe pottes, 1 chist, 1 xxxxxxxx, 1 colte, 1 spayd shxxxx & dagger, 1 halbexxx all priste 32s. Xxxxx the corne wch was in Skilcorn xx[?hands] he lxxx to the xx xxxge xxx wch ssss 9 stokes of oates & xxx sheaves of barley priced 7s. It halfe an ould feather bed, It, on earthen platter. The whole Invent amounts to 9 pounds 18s 3d
