John Kneene dept this lyfe the 17th of August 1637
untestate Whereof the Church havinge intelligence
hath decreed his children John & Jony Kneene administrators.
Supervisors his brothers & sisters.
And a legasie to the wyfe upon sight of the Inventorie.
Salvo tamen vincuig suo jure. Decreted est et Solvit 12d.
Invent before all Saints Day next subpoena vs[5s] ad usu domi:
Inventory of Jo: Kneene priced by Patricke Casmeet, Edmund Churphy,
Ewan Xtin & Jo: Martin who were sworne for the same:
Imprimis half oxe 14s
It, 1 steere 12s
It, 1 horse 20s
It, half houshould stuffe 6s 4d
It, in sheep young & old 7 & price 7s
It, the corbes is besides unpriced
Note, these are discharged vide, MV
Isabell Corkill wife of the decedent hath put suretyes for
the other halfe of the goods; Patrick Corkill & Edmond Carrett,
who have bound themselves theire heires & executrs for
the forth coming thereof according to Law & to keep the
office harmless, subpoena double this value.
Edmond Carrett hath put in Wm: Garrett & Wm: Carrett for
pledges for the one halfe of these goods the crop of corne
is wholy forthcoming to the executors & to dischardge
all things accordinge to law, who have bound themselves
there heires & execr for the performance & to secure
the office subpoena double this Inventory.
Whereas Wm Carrett & Wm Carrett hath complained unto us
yt the goods of Jo: Kneene his execrs are divissed & sould
by Edmond Carrett, for whom they stand bound; The court
hath accepted of Wm Calow & Patricke Corkill who stands
bound wholy for the same Invent according to law, &
disuist[?] the said Wm Carrett & Wm Carrett, date 9th 7ber 1640
