The last will & testamt of John Maddrell wch depted 
this life 22th of Feb: 16--[in fold].   
I John Madrell sicke in bodie but whole in mind, & 
of a perfect memorie thanks be God, doe make my 
last will & testament in manner & forme following.   
First I bequeath my sould into the hands of Almightie 
God, my Creator & redeemer, & my bodie to be honestly interred.    
Itt, I bequeath to the poore one Ferled m[alt]
& half ferled wheate, & the rest at the discrecon 
of my Executors.   
I bequeath to my daughter Margreat Maddrell one firlet barlie.  
I bequeath to my daughter Jonie Maddrell halfe a ferled of barly.   
I constitute & ordaine my sone John Maddrell sole Executor 
of all my goods moveable & unmoveable, & this is my last will 
& testament as wittness Jo: Keig vicr.      Probatu est & Solvit 9d.     

Invent, first, one oxe & one steere 44s,    
one old horse one old mare & a filli  28s,    
a sheep & a halfe  2s 3d,    
certaine old vessells  12d,  finis.
