Archdeacon Will 1656#28 Jurby of Thomas Callow, dated 23 April 1656, pages 28 & 29:
Aprill the 23th 1656
In the name of God Amen. I Tho: Callow sicke in
bodie but whole [in] minde, of good & perfect
memorie praysed be God for it, do make my xxxx[missing edge]
will & testamt in manner & forme following.
first I bequeath my soule [to] Almightie God who
created and redeemed me and my bodie to Xtian [buri]all.
Itm, to ye poor 1 boule mault, half fir: wheate, 1 fir:
oate meale & two muttons att Alhallotide, and 1 firlett
oate meale, and 4s to be bestowed in beere the night yt
I shalle [?shalbe] hod God.
Itm, I bequeath to Wm Calistor xxx[missing edge]
house yt he lives in and seaven buts of ground
after my decease dureinge his naturall life,
if he stay & live there, and the grassing of a cow in xxxx[missing edge]
Close at Gollane if he have a cow, but if he have
not a cow, he hath xxx[missing edge]
libertie to sett ye cowes grassing to another,
and he to give foure dayes xxxx[missing edge]
to tenne[?, ?fenne, ?sewe] or trench[?] about the sd Close.
Itm, to the sd Wm: a daymoth of haye in Wm Garretts
Close the working foure dayes in fencing about the
sd Close but he hath now power to sett the sd hay.
Itm, its my will yt if Will: Caxxxx[missing edge]
live till the mortgage be expired at the paying backe
of the money xxxx[missing edge]
3 pound to be returned to him as Legasie, and if he
die before the Close ixxxxx[missing edge]
mortgage to me be released I allow of nothing to his execr.
Itm, to my nephew John Callow a heffer wch he hath
already, and a day-mouth of hay in Wm: Carrett
his Close during the tyme of ye mortgage as legasie.
Itm, to my brother Wm: Callow and his issue if it
please God to give him any my Land and houses that
I live in, together wth ye close I have in mortgage
from Wm: Carrett and the Close at Bollaugh, and if
he have noe issue it is my will that my meece Anne
Callow shall enjoy the houses and land I now live
in after his Decease.
Itm, I constituted and appoint my brother Wm: Callow,
Anne: Callow & Katherin: Callow my true & Lawfull
execr of all ye rest of my goods movable & unmovable.
It, to my mother in Law Averick Quaile 1 sheepe 1 lambe
& 1 hogge.
Itm, to my wife 10s wch is in her fathers hands,
and half fitherbed.
Itm, to Sr Wm: Crowe a mutton.
More added to the will May the 16th 1656:
The Close I have in mortgage from Wm: Teare Kirragh
I bequeath to my brother Wm Callow, and my neece Anne:
Callow, during the tyme of the mortgage, and at the
expiracion of the mortgage, the moneyes to be equally
divided between them provided always that the sd Wm:
Callow is to pay to the sd Teare 3 pounds 8s wch I
am behind wth him. Itm, to Bahie Caxxxx[missing edge]
20s legasie to be payed to her by Wm: and
Anne Callow out of xxxxx[missing edge]
and the wife also accordeinge to Law.
Testes:
Wm: Crowe, & Wm Calister witness to the first
pte of the will, Nicho: Cowley.

A Codicill added by consent of the execr as
followeth: He left his pte of a colt to Do: Christian,

That the sd Tho: Callow uttered these words followinge;
That he had left a daymayth of hay to

have left him some other goods

a maire at Bushops Court and left
the half of sd maire to the sd Jo:
Caloe his brother wch xxxxx[in fold]
by and further saith not.

Isabell and Jony Freere entereth their claime agst the execr of Tho: Calowe
for certeine goods due xxxx[in fold]
by the death of their sister Anne Feere according to her
last will as by her invent appeareth and craveth tryall accordinge to Law
29 July 1656:
Phinloe Freere entereth his clame agst the execr of Tho: Calowe
for yt he the said Tho: Calow xx[in fold]dered[?]
him to have mucthered[?] his children whexxxx[in fold, ?wherein]
he is damnifyed[?] to value of 20 pounds and craveth tryall accordinge to Law
Ultimo die July 1656:
Anne Callowe entereth her clame agst the execr of Tho: Calowe
for 6 pounds wch was left her out of the whole besides her
pte of the executorship and craveth tryall accordinge to Law.
22nd May 1659:
The execr of Tho: Calow doe enter their clame agst one Wm Freere
of Jurby for the sum of 40s and craveth tryall accordinge to Law.
