The last will and testament of John Cowley who departed life 21 January
1659.
ITEM:  He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. ITEM:
He left to the poor a firlett malt or firlett wheat to be which used at the
descretion of his executors.
ITEM: He left to his son William Cowley one ewe 5 years old, and one cow six
years old and one horse and five sheep and all husbandry gears at his house.
ITEM: He bequeathed to his daughter Margarett six pence.
ITEM: He bequeathed to his daughter Ellinor three pence.
ITEM: He bequeathed to Jo: Cowley 12 pence.
ITEM: He bequeathed to John Killey 12 pence.
ITEM: He left the Minister 12 pence.
ITEM: He left to his wife Catherine Quaile half a mare.
ITEM: He constituted and ordained his three children: Jo:Jony, and Issable
Cowley his and lawful executors of all rest of his goods moveable and
immoveable.
Will Proved May 1660.
Witnesses John Cowley and John Killey.
The goods in ye custody of William Quayle and John Cannell according to law.
