The last will and testament of Phillip Curghie.
First committed his soule to God, his Creator
and Redeemer, and his bodie to Christian burial etc.
Itt, he bequeathed unto his sister Joine 12d legacie.
Itt, he bequeathed to his sister Ann 12d legacie.
Itt, he bequeathed unto his brothers son Ro: 3s legacie.
Itt, he bequeathed uto Wm Quayle one calfe wch
is already payed.
Itt, unto his brother Ewan 21 shillings of the
monies due from both the lewises[?] and to be
payed after the death of his wife.
Itt, he bequeathed unto his brothers sone Jo:
21 shillings of the moneis due from the sd lewises[?],
and to be payed after the death of his weife.
Itt, he bequeathed unto Johne Coavine 14s of
the monies due from the above lewises[?, or keroishes]
and to be payed after the death of his sd wife.
Itt, unto the minister 2s legacie.
Itt, hee constituted, appointed and ordained his
wife his true and lawfull exectr of all his goods
movable and unmovable.

Note, that wheras the above Testator was indebted
unto Johne Covine, some goods, ther both haven comen
to a mutuall agreement and the sd Johne did
acknowledge before the witnesses of his will that
he was fully satisfied, wch the proving[?] xxxxxx
the deceadent –aine[?] his cond----[?].

The exec sworn. Probat et solvid 6d.
A true inventorie of all the goods movable, and
unmovable of the above Testator, due his execut,
viz 5pounds;
Itt, five pounds 14s due from Richd Keroish
and Jo: his brother;
Itt, from his sister Ann 22 shillings.
Pledges Sir Ed: Croew, & Jo: Curghye,
secundas forman legis.
The above Testator to release his owne counsciense
doth declare that he was by and in presence when
Ewan Curghie promised to his sone Jo: these
particulars in bargaine of contraction viz:
half his team of oxen[?] half ye crope of corne,
at the end of tyme or xxxx until then hee the sd
John was to haive the third part of the promises
and at the experacion the other parte xx xxxxxx xxx
halfe; and after the death of the sd Ewan xxxxx
his lands whatsoever.
By virtue of Mr Deemster Christions orders to
mee Edward Crowe minister to take the oath of
Phillip Curghie concerninge what bargains Ewan
Curghie promised unto his sone John in condition
by[?] the sd Phillip did swear unto me all wch
he willed or declared before the witnesses
annexed to the will And to testifie the same
I haive subscribed my name,

Tho: Mcylcarrane entereth his clame against ye
exec of Phill Curghye for xx shillings sterling
and craveth the Law.
