Gilbt Cannell depted this life the 28th of April 1659
intestate wherof ye Court haveinge notice hath decreed
his child viz Margrett Cannell Administrator, The next
of kinred on the fatherside viz Richd Ann Margrett &
Madge Cannell Supervisors, a legasye to ye wife upon
sight of ye Invent, the said Richd Cannell, Phinloe
Craine in ye behalf of his wife Margrett and Jo: Kneene
in the behalf of his wife Madge are onely sworne and
Anne to be sworne at next Court.
The wife also sworne, 10s allowed to ye wife for a legasye.
Salvo Tamen vincinge, Suo jure.
Decretum est et Solvit 2s 6d.
The Inventorye of Gilbert Cannell, priced by 4 sworne men
namly Donold Cannell Senior, Donold Cannell Junior, John Teare
and John Cannan; as followeth:
All ye Inventorie of ye said Gilbert Cannell amounts to ye some of 10£ : 5s.
If any more can be found to be added at next Court subpoena 20s,
vix a qter of ye cropped of corne as it shall fall and the other
half quarter to be due at ye death of ye grandmother of ye child
to the end ye it may be found.
The goods in ye Supervisors custodye
Pledges for the forthcomeinge therof & to secure the office Jo: Gawne
& Dollin Cannell Finlo Carrett in pain of duble value ad usum domin
Not yt The share of ye invent belongeinge to Ann as Supervisor
in pte is in ye Custodye of Richd and in case ye child dye under
age The sd Ann & her husband doth wholly reunitt the parte of ye
crop of corne yt ---had[dark fold]
by ye death of ye sd child father unto them; unto ---him[?, dark fold]
ye sd Right.
Dollin Canell stands bound still.
19 July 1658:
Mrgrett & Margerye Cannell entereth their claime agst ye Adimnistr
of Gilbt Cannell for 9s and a mutton & Craveth ye benefit of ye Law
Richd Cannell entereth agst ye sd Administr for ha---[in fold]
a quarter of ground & craveth ye Law
At KK Michaell xvth May 1660:
Ordered by consent of all ptyes interested that Katherin Sayle ye
wife of Gilbt Cannell shall have the tuition of Margr Cannell
Administrator of ye sd Gilbt until she come to ye age of 14
yeares; and ye Supervisors of ye sd child ye custodye of ye goods;
They payeinge to ye sd mother after ye rate of 12s per anno till
ye sd child come to be 7 yeares old and for the other 7 yeares ye
mother is to have ye full of her porcon and ye benefit therof
towards her maintenance; She givinge sufficient security for ye
same otherwise to Returne ye sd child to ye overseers who doe
bind them selves to mantene ye sd child as becometh.
July ye 20th 1675:
Received thou by mee Willm Nayller for & in the behalfe of
Margt Cannell from the hands of ffinlo Craine the full summe
of fiftie shillings Sterling & six pence beinge a quarter
of the goods of ye said Margt, due to her by ye death of her
father Gilbert Cannell & in the hands of him the said
Finlo & doe acquit & dischasge the pledges:
note yt 20s of ye said summe was paid unto the said Margt Cannell
as appears by her acquittance bareinge date June 18th : 74
& the other thirtie shillings six pence was received by me
Willm Nayller & ye said Margt from ye hands of Willm Naylor
as witness ther hands ye day & yeere above written:

Feb 16th 75 [1675/76]:
Received these at & from ye hand of Sr John Huddleston for
& in ye behalf of Willm Nayller the sum of 20s in ye
presence of Ricd Brew & Phillip Brew I say received, Margt Cannell
Received also from ye hands of Gilbt Cannell for the use
of Margt Cannell the full summe of 46s in pt of payment
of her fathers goods & doe acquit & diacharge for ye said sume.
Jo: Huddlestone:
I doe also acknowledge to have received the said sum
of 46s from ye hands of Sr Joh: Huddleston & doe acquit
& discharge him the day & yeire above written; being
sent to my by my uncle Willm Sayle: & doe discharge ye
said Sr Joh: Margt Cannell X.
