     Germaine ye 16th of Februairie 1658
In the name of God, Amen. I Jane Stevenson als 
Moore being in perfect health, & of good memorie, 
blessed be God for the same, yet considering 
the uncertaintie of the shortness of our daies 
and tyme here on earth: am desirous at this 
present, to make my last will & testament & 
the same to stand of force, if I shall not at 
any tyme hereafter alter it. First, I comitt my 
soul to God with full confidence of the xxxxxxxx 
of the light, & my bodie to be interred in 
Xtian mould.  
Itm, to the poore 1 boule of malt, 1 bo-: of wheat, 
& the rest at the discretion of my exec.  
Itm, to my daughter Marie Stevenson thirtie pounds.  
Itm, to my daughter Jane twentie pounds.  
Itm, to my sonn James ten pounds.  
Itm, to the child on my bearing fifteen pounds, 
& if it dy the sd fifteen pounds to returne to 
my daughters.  
Itm, to my son & heire Willm Stevenson all that 
my part of the crope of corne, & teame of oxen: 
not onely as I now possess it but as it was 
promised by my father in law & mother in law 
at our marriage as is extant by bargaine of 
contract. Likewise I leave to sd heire Willm 
Stevenson one new feather bed furnished with 
clothes, & sheets, & all the tables formes & 
bedstockes in the house without division: & 
in case my son Willm dy ere he come to bee 
married, or to lawfull yeares, I bequeath all 
the premises to my sonn James: & the ten pounds 
left the sd James to my birth if it live 
otherwise to my daughters, and soe whether 
heire male or female of my children come to be 
heire, I leave their legasie to the rest of my children.  
Itm, to my heire the new cubboard wholly 
after my husband’s decease.  
Itm, to my daughter Marie my trunke: & all my 
wearing linen & woolen clothes to my daughters, 
to my father the black stuffe.  
Itm, to my mother my gould ring.  
Item, I constitute & ordayne my loving husband 
Robert Stevenson true & whole exec of all the 
rest, And in testimonie that xxx hath given 
consent to all the promises, & will faithfully 
performe this my will, he hath subscribed his 
name before the witnesses.  
Itt, I leave all my children and goods to my 
husband’s custodie, & bringing up.  
It, I constitute my father & my brother James 
Moore overseers of my children. And in case my 
husband marrie, & the children be not looked unto, 
& used, I then leave power to my overseers to 
dispose of my children & their goods to such 
as they think of xxxx provided all waies it be 
for ye good of my poor childrens discresion 
I then leave my husband & brother James Moore

The supervisors & husband sworn.  
Probat et solvit 1s.                           

The Supervisors in Court have declared ye 
Inventory of goods or porcions who ye children 
to be mentioned, & expressed in ye will; 
and have further undertaken to bringe in 
a perfect Invent of ye particulars of ye 
wearinge[?] apparel as it is expressed for 
ye case of ye daughters as for other goods 
They xxxxx to ye husband being exec.  
Therefore the husband by consent of ye sd 
Supervisors hath given securityes Jo: Cain 
& Tho: Radliffe, their heires exec & assigns 
for ye faithful answering of ye sd portions 
of ye children when they come to lawfull 
yeares, & to keepe the office xxxx eles 
suppoena double portion ad uses xxxx as 
witness their subscription this 5th of 
August 1660:
