Maughold
The last will & testament of Will: Corteene, who departed this life ye 13 of
Novembr (75) Imprs. He comitted his soul to god and his body to christian
buryall. It. He bequeathed to his Grandchild Gilbert Quillease twenty shillings wch
he ordered to be put into some honest persons handes, and to be expended for the
child's better mantenance, and bringing up; till he was better able to shift for
himselfe. He left him alsoe a new Cassack to be made into cloathes for him; and
said yt he had wholly maintained him this yeare past, except ye milk of one goate
and one sheepe, and he did hope yt ye next of kindred by his father's side, would
maintaine him as long againe; And did humbly desire yt ye Reverend Court would
require ye aforesaid next of kindred, to take ye childs goodes out of ye estate and to
give in Bonds for their forthcoming. It He said yt he had given a cow to John
Curlad, till such time as ye said cow brought him forth two calves but declared
yt ye bargan was fulfiled and ye Cow to returne to his executrix. It He declared yt
there was three shillings being a just Debt due from Jo: Curlad to him. It He left
onto to John Kerrish as much of yt cloath in ye walkmilne, as would be him a
paire of britches. It He said yt ye Quilleases demanded a payre of nets from
him as due to them in ye childs goodes, but he declared yt there was no such
a thinge due and, if they called for it, to give ym but one hundred of Herrings
being ye uttmost of wt was of right due to them. It to John Kerrish one
shilling. It To Daniell Kerrish one shilling. It He nominated and
appointed his Daughter Margaret his Lawful and true executrix of
all ye rest of his goodes movable and unmovable. It To ye children
of Jo: Corteene one goate. Itt He declared that ye number of ???
wch was due to An Joughin, the like also was due to his grandchilde.

The supervisers one the father's side are ordered to
take the custody of such goods as belonge to the children
one the father's side & the mother one the other side each
of ym giving bonds to swear the same; the mother ???? given in bond to the
??? ????? in the mother's will.
