In Nomine Dei Amen.  April the 1th Anno -----   
I Christopher Cowle sick in Body but in memory sound 
and perfect praised be to God for it, do make my last 
will & testament in manner following.   
First I  commend my Soule unto God and my body to Christian Buriall   
Itm I leave and bequeath to the poor a firlett of 
Barly or Meale.   
Itm I leave to my son and heir Simon Cowle the whole 
teame of oxen, and an old ox to be taken out and a 
young ox put in his place and stead, with a ploughe 
and all gears belonging thereto, with 2 horses vizt 
the brown horse and a stone horse, and a silver ring 
and a brewing kieve;   
Itm I leave my Great Bible to my said heire, to be kept 
in the farm whilst any of my decent remains inhabitants therein.   
Itm I leave unto my said heir the three parts of the Cropp of Corn.    
Itm I leave to my grandchild a Sheep and a Lambe;   
To widow Xtian one of the Blanketts that is upon my own Bed.   
To William Kneale my best suit of cloathes and 12d.   
To Samuall Christian 12d.   To the Curate a Mutton;   
To ye cleark a Mutton.   
Itm widow Joyner in Duglass owes me upon the account 
of my Sister 18 shillgs.   
Itm I owe 8 shilln to Nanny Moor upon the account of 
my Sister which I leave to be paid by my Executors.    
Itm John Joughin of Cranstall oweth me 3 shilln and 9d, 
of for Rent of which there remains due to William 
Joughin of ye kimmerraugh 2 shillns.   I -----[torn] 
Ellinor Cowle of KK Andrews ows me 4 shilln for a firlet ----[torn edge] 
Barly. Itm I constitute and ordaine my 3 children El------[torn edge] 
and Christopher Cowle Executors of all the Rest of -------[torn edge] 
moveable and immoveable whatsoever, in manner follo------[torn edge] 
is to say half to my Eldest Daughter Ellinor, and of the -----[torn edge] 
half, the two parts to my Daughter Anne, and the rema------[torn edge] 
to my said Son Christopher, Besides their mother’s Goods ----[torn edge] 
is to be taken out of the whole Goods.

The Executrs at age are sworn in Court according to Law.

The Inventory taken and praized by 4 men Willm Kneale, Sam Xtian, 
John Xtian, Wm Joughin,   amounts to the Sum of 48 pounds 00 shillings ----
