In the name of God, amen. I ELINOR RADCLIFFE 
being sick and weak in body, but in perfect 
mind and memory praised be God, do make 
this my last will and testament in manner 
and form following. 
First, I commend my soul to Almighty God my 
Creator hoping through the merits of my 
blessed Redeemer to receive full pardon 
and forgiveness of my sins, and my body 
to be buried in that Parish Church of Peel, 
in confidence of a joyful resurrection 
at the last day, to be reunited to my soul, 
and made partaker of the heavenly kingdom 
prepared for those that love and fear 
the Lord. 
I leave to the poor a bowl of meal and 
a bowl of malt to be distributed on them 
at All Saints next. 
Item, I leave to my THREE DAUGHTERS 
CHRISTIAN, ANN, & ELLEN ten pounds apiece 
to each. 
Item, I leave to my FOUR SONS vizt., 
JOHN, THOMAS, HENRY & JAMES five pounds 
to every one of them. 
Item, I leave to my GRANDCHILDREN ELLIN 
& MICHAEL & SAMUEL RADCLIFFE ten shillings 
apiece, and to all the rest of my 
GRANDCHILDREN 5 shillings apiece. 
Item, I leave to my minister five shillings 
and to my SON SILVESTER five shillings. 
Lastly, I constitute and appoint my 
dear HUSBAND THOMAS RADCLIFFE & my SON 
JOHN my sole and joint Executors of 
the rest of my goods moveable and 
unmoveable: the former of whom 
THOMAS RADCLIFFE hath consented that 
after all debts (lawfully proved) are 
truly satisfied, that all and every 
the fore said legacies should be paid 
first out of his WIFE's part of goods 
& then what wants xxx shall be paid 
out of his part. And to this will and 
condexxxx we have subscribed this 
23d of April anno domini 1689.

Thomas Radcliffe. 

MR. THO: RADCLIFFE ONE OF THE EXECUTORS is 
sworn in court according to Law. The other 
to be sworn by the Register. 
Probatum est solvit 1s. 

FEBRUARY 18TH 1689/90
MR. SILVESTER RADCLIFFE enters his claim against 
the Executors of his MOTHER MRS. ELLIN RADCLIFFE 
for half the team and half the crop of corn due 
to him as appears by bill, and craveth the Law. 

MR. THOMAS RADCLIFFE ONE OF THE EXECUTORS doth 
acknowledge in Court that this claim is just 
and due to his said son and doth oblige himself 
in double the value to xxxx the whole team and 
crop for the said Mr. SILVESTER RADCLIFFE use 
and to give in securities and pledges for the 
forth coming thereof or to redeem the xxxx 
daymoth of hay which JOHN QUAILE of Ramsey hath
 in pledge or presence of nine pounds, as 
 witness his hand the day and year above 
 written.
