This is affirmed to be ye Last will and testament of [Thomas Corteen] 
being sick in body but of sound and perfect m[ind who departed] 
this life Jan: 22 1701

First he committed his soul to god and his body to [christian burial]
Item he bequeathed to his son Robert half ye crop of [Corn and the] 
team of oxen with half of all ye husbandry gears.
 [He be]queathed to his wife halfe a heifer. Item he nomi[nated and ]
appointed his daughter Alis sole Executrix of
of his goods movable and unmovable whatsoever.

The Executrix being under age the Eldest 
brother Robert is sworn in form of law 
who having the Goods and the tuition of 
the children in his hands hath given pledges 
Tho Kneen and Gilbt [Cashin]

Alice Corteen married Robert Joughin 26 February 1722/3.
The following document (date unknown) identifies her as being the daughter of Thomas Corteen
and Isabel Kenish.

Robt Joughin husband of Alice Corteen the Exectx 
of her Father & Mother acknowledges to have Recd at & 
from the hands of Robt Corteen Supervizr of the sd Estate 
the Sum of œ6 - 01 - 6d being the whole of wt became 
due unto her by their Execrshp and does hereby 
acquit & Discharge the sd Robt & Ex?? of the same 
for ever.
