22, St Ann:  
The last Will & Testament of Ellin Cowel als Brew 
of KK St Anne who departed this life ye fift day 
of Nov: 1701.  
Imp: She committed her soul to God and her body 
to Christian burial.   
It: She left to be distributed to the poor a firlet 
of malt & two kishan’s of wheat.    
It: She bequeathed half a cow, half a steer, half 
a heifer, and half a calf, for her daughter Margrett.   
It: She bequeathed a mair & a foal (which was in 
strife betwixt herself & her son William) to 
Christopher her youngest son and that Christopher 
is to give the eldest son 13 shilling and six pence 
(which was in her own chest.)   
It: She bequeathed the rideing horse to her Husband.   
It: She left two garments of clothe and two linnin 
shirt’s to Christopher.   
It: She left a mutton for Mr. Cosnahan.   
It: She bequeathed the Intack land that was in ye 
farm to her three children (viz) Christian, Margrett 
& Christopher.   
It: She hath left the foresaid three children sole 
executers of all the rest of her goods moveable 
and unmoveable whatsoever.     
Wittnesses: 
William Kissage his mrk X,   
Robt Moor his mrk X, jurati.         

The Execrs at age are sworn in Court in form of Law.
Probatum est et Solvit 1s.

Pledges to secure the office and pay all debts and 
legacies in form of Law  Will: Cowl, Will: Kissage.
