       KK Malew 1704/5                                  

John Bridson junior of Oristall in the Parish of
KK Malew being sick in body but of good and perfect
memory and calling to remembrance the uncertainty of 
this transitory life/ made his last Will and Testament
in manner and form following. First he commited his 
soul unto Almighty God his Saviour; and his Body 
to Christian Burial where his Forefathers have
been formerly buried. and as for the selling of his 
worldly affairs and such Goods as it has pleased God to
bestow upon him he order'd and disposed the same 
in such form as follows (viz) he left unto the poor
of the Parish one ferlet of barley to be distribut-
ed amongst them.
ltem He left unto his dear and loving wife twenty shillings
Legacy.
Item. He left unto his heir or whomsoever would be his heir
his part and Right of whatsoever his father and
mother gave him in his contraction Bargain.
Item he constituted and appointed his two daughters (viz)
Jane Bridson and Ann Bridson his Exutr.xs
of all his Goods: and also appointed Deemster Mylrea
his uncle Jo.n Harrison his Brother in law and
Wm. Bridson his own Brother overseers of his

                                  Sworn in form of Law.

Notes.
1. This man, who was briefly Attorney General, appears to have died young. He may well be the son born on 11th October 1674 to the Mr John Bridson of Orristal who was buried on 9th. November 1716 (See will RB 525).
2. The will is followed by an inventory spread over five pages and details of  debts against the estate dispersed over a further seven pages. It was not proved until 1709.
