         12     KK Bradan, Anno 1704

This is affirmed to be the last will of Christian 
Gelling als Cannell who departed this life abt 
the 10th of December Anno predicto, Being in 
good and perfect mind and memory at the makeing 
thereof. First commended her Soul to God and Body to Xtian 
Buriall.  Itm to her husband five pounds.  Itm, she left 
to her son and heir David Gelling, or whoever of her 
children will be heir, her part of the Crop of Corn, Hay
and Teame, as also of all Gears belonging to husban=
dry.  Itm, she left to her husband’s son Robt Gelling 
a cow. Itm, nominated and appointed her four chil=
dren vizt., John, Thomas, Mary and Elizabeth joynt 
Ex'rs of all the rest of her Goods movable and un-
movable wtsoever, Excepting her Linnen and Woollen 
cloathes which she left to her said daughters.  
                         The Exec'rs being under age, 
Witnesses                John & Adam Xtian are sworn

Christian ye just sum of ten p'ds eight }     10 : 00 : 8
pence, as appears by ye pd acct. -------}  
    For which Mr. Wm Flaxney &        }
    Robt Kelley are pledges according } 
    to Law. ------------------------- }    

Debts due from several persons as ap= }

Upon further Examination of the Accounts belong:

shillings and a penny, w'ch is in the father’s} 06 : 18 : 01

More the children’s part of a house      }
in Douglas (called Walker’s House) which }
they are to have in kind.---

ventory made by the p'ties concernd 
the day and year before menconed.

July ye 22d 1718: This day John Gelling, Mary 
Gelling, & Elizabeth Gelling have acknowledged to be 
fully paid and satisfied at & from ye hands of their Guardi:
:ans Adam Christian & Thomas Christian Son to 
John Christian lately deceased, for ye whole of what 
was due to them by the Death of their Mother Christian 
Gelling als Cannell, & do hereby discharge & exone:
:rate their sd Guardians & their Ex'rs for ever of 
ye sd sum & whatever else appears to be due. In 
Witness whereof they have hereunto set their Names 
or usual Marks ye year & day above written.  
The whole sum due to ye said children John Gelling
from ye supervisors as                Mary Gelling her mk
^ appears by ye Inventory is 14:3:8   Elizabeth Gelling her mk
                                
      
Captain Paul Gelling father to ye above children 
does on account of his son Thomas, acquit and discharge 
ye above supervisors as far as he is concerned 
or upon acct of his fores'd Mother’s part of Goods 
as Witness his hand ye year & day aforesd.
