In the name of God, amen. I Cleave Stevenson of Castletown
being sick in body, but of perfect mind and memory, do make
this my last will and testament in manner following.
First, I commit my soul to God, hoping through his mercy
and his merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer to obtain
the full and free pardon of all my sins, and to inherit
everlasting life, and my body I leave to be decently interred
in KK Arbory at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named.
Item, I will that all the money expended towards my care
whether in Ireland or in this Country as also all my funeral
charges be fully paid and satisfied.
Item, I leave to the poor of KK Arbory twenty shillings to
be distributed at the discretion of the Reverend Mr. Robinson
and my brother Stevenson, and ten shillings to the poor of
Castletown to be distributed at the discretion of the Reverend
Mr. Woods, Mr. Ross and Mr. Makon within two months after my decease.
Item, I leave to my sister Mary Griffith five pounds, to my
sister Jane Allen three pounds, to my sisters Catherin &
Margrett three pounds, to my brother Stevenson twenty shillings,
to my brother Griffith twenty shillings and to my brother
Allen twenty shillings. And I leave to my sister Gibbons and
my sister Elliot ten shillings each if they shall call for it.
Item, I leave to the Reverent Mr. Walker a guinea, and I desire
that he will be pleased to preach my funeral sermon, and to
the Reverend Mr. Ross I leave ten shillings.
Lastly, I constitute and ordain my ever honoured mother (in
consideration of her great kindness) my sole Executrix of all
the rest of my goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever left
me by my father or fallen to me by the death of my brother
Richard and sister Alice, or to which I have a right any
manner of way. And it is my will that my Executrix shall be
at liberty to pay the legacies above mentioned at any time
she shall think most convenient within seven years after my
decease, excepting what I have appointed for the poor. In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
three and twentieth day of February 1710.
[signed] Cleave Stevenson.
