Douglas 10. 1711:12
In the Name of God Amen. I Margt Christian of the
Town of Duglas sick and weak in body, but in memory sound &
perfect praised be God, do make, ordain and declare my last
will and testamt in manner following. First I commend my soul
to God and body to Christian Buriall. Itm, I give and bequeath
to my brother Thomas Christian 20s, and a cow at Kewage, and a
big armed chair. Itm, to my Nephew William Christian an old
feather bed with two blankets and rugg with two pair of course
sheets and three chairs. Itm, to my Nephew Robert Christian [ten shi…]
and a rug when he goez to Lea. Itm, to my nephew William Christian
ten shills, half dossen trenchers, half dossen spoones & two pew-
der dishes. Itm, to my nephew John Christian, my part of the
house, a bed, coverlet, a pair of blankets, 3 pewder dishes a dos-
sen plates, and a dossen trenchers, with all the rest of my Goods
movable and unmovable whatsoever, Excepting these legacies fol-
lowing, vizt, to the foresaid William Christian a tub, to my Sister
in Law Averick my lined mant & petticoat that I were dayly, and
a petticoat of the same stuff, my old bodies and stomacher with three
Suits of Linnen and a black hood, a red & white handkerchief
and my Night Gown. Itm, to my said brother Thomas two yards of [Mishl..]
and also two stone of wooll betwixt him, William, & Robert aforesd
to be cloaths to them, and some kear wooll for stockins for them. Itm,
I leave all the rest of my cloathes Linnen and Woollen to my Nephew
John above menconed, Except 2 Suits of Headcloaths to Peggy Lage[?]
and a scarlet knott. To my sd Sister Averick my Rideing Hood.

Itm, I constitute my sd Nephew John Christian my Ex’r. In witness
of the above Contents to be my Last Will I have to them put my Name
this 29th day of January 1711. Itm, to the maid Isabell Garrett an old
shift pettycoat, an old flannel
