Whereas I JONEY CHRISTIAN ALIAS KERROWSE of Ramsey xxxx 
my aged feeble condition frequently been attended, and xxxx 
my dear and loving kinsman WILLIAM KERROWSE blacksmith 
in the said town, who to that end this nine years by past 
hath continually lived and dwelt with me, and that to such 
of my satisfaction and contentment that this many years I 
did fully and freely resolve and designe to have settled upon 
him most or all of my worldly effects in order to which I 
did in June 1711 and again in June 1715 by two several Wills 
signed by me before sufficient evidence settle the same upon 
him, yet afterwards in the said month of June 1715 when in an 
agony and fit of my infirmity was by some certain persons 
moved and overpersuaded when I scarce was sensible what I did, 
for to sign a deed of gift to some relations quite contrary to 
my inclination and to the great loss and detriment of him my 
said loving kinsman, and being now so much further aged, infirm, 
and feeble, that I cannot in any wise manage or look after myself 
and re ---incing small concerns, do for the preventing of such 
further ---uding temptations and advantages freely and voluntarily 
covenant conclude and agree and irrevocably settle all my 
worldly substance and estate upon and to him my said KINSMAN 
WILLIAM KERROWSE in manner and form following:  
Therefore be it known unto all men by these presents that I the 
above named JONEY CHRISTIAN ALIAS KERROWSE RELICT AND WIDOW OF 
PARSON JOHN CHRISTIAN deceased diverse good and several reasons 
xxxx known unto myself me hereunto moving, but chiefly for and 
in regard of the kind affection I now bear and have unto my 
said loving kinsman the aforesaid WILLIAM KERROWSE, and for the 
good and dutiful offices and services which he the said WILLIAM 
hath done for me, and to me, and more particularly for and in 
consideration of my said kinsman's est and constant service 
and attendance as formerly: as also to maintain me with 
sufficient eat drink clothes and lodging and all other maintenance 
xxxx ---aries suitable and proper for one of my circumstance 
and quality, during my whole natural life, and likewise to 
xxxx me yearly and every year whilst I do live for pocket money 
the sum of twenty shillings per year sterling, if the same be 
by me ----manded: xxxxx the reasons and considerations 
aforesaid hereby acknowledge myself freely and voluntarily to 
have of my own accord without any importunity of friends, 
given granted surrendered and forever passed over, and of 
and from the day of the date hereof , by these presents 
freely and voluntarily give grant surrender and forever 
pass over as my act and deed of gift irrevocably from my 
heirs executors administrators and assigns, all my whole 
right title and interest that I now have or hereafter may 
might or can xxxx of in and to any and all my whole worldly 
substance of an- ---ity and quality whatsoever, be the same 
consisting of books or mortgaged lands, houses, silver, 
gold, plaite, bills bonds dues and demands or any other 
goods or chattels of what kind soever to have and to hold 
use occupy possess and enjoy th- and every thereof with 
all liberties profits and consideration any wise arising, 
in so full and ample manner as the same hath by me been 
enjoyed and possessed, unto him the said WILLIAM KERROWSE 
his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever from 
the day of the date hereof, he the said WILLIAM KERROWSE 
---taining and paying me twenty shillings yearly (if demanded) 
for pocket as aforesaid: And I do further by these presents 
an--- revoke and make void all former wills or writings 
where xxx this deed of gift and settlement, or any part 
parcel of the prexxxx were at any time heretofore bequeathed 
settled or otherwise xxxx of, to the contrary of this my 
irrevocable deed of gift, and present: And moreover know 
ye that I JONEY CHRISTIAN ALIAS KERROWSE have put my said 
loving friend and KINSMAN WILLIAM KERROWSE xxx quiet and 
peaceable possession of all and singular the mentioned 
premises by the delivering unto him the keys formerly 
belonging to me, as also by delivering unto him at the 
ensealing xxxx one coined piece of silver commonly called 
half a crown xxx on the seal of these presents, and do 
also oblige myself heirs executors administrators and 
assigns to a warrant uphold and defend xxx premises unto 
him if said WILLIAM KERROWSE his heirs executors 
administrators and assigns against the pretended right 
and title of all persons whatsoever (the right Honourable 
Lord of this Isle only excepted) and do beg the confirmation 
of the Honourable Governor and Worshipful Officers to 
these presents as also pray xxxxxxx ---icers concerned 
that all other thing or things requissxxx xxxxxx done 
for his the said WILLIAM KERROWSE and assigns as xxxxxx 
to the purport and true meaning thereof; And for the 
true performance of all and every the premises I the 
said JONEY CHRISTIAN with the foresaid KINSMAN WILLIAM 
KERROWSE do bind and oblige ourselves heirs executors 
administrators and assigns, and every of us, in the 
penalty and forfeiture of three hundred pound sterling 
in the nature of all other fines ---ewing to the Right 
Honourable Lord of this Isle in such lie cases, in 
testimony whereof I have with my said KINSMAN WILLIAM 
KERROWSE this deed of gift and settlement caused to be 
written and doth hereunto put our hands and fixed our 
seals before these subscribing witnesses this twenty 
eight day of September 1716.

3RD OCTOBER 1716: THE SUBSCRIBING WITNESSES have deposed 
all the within and above Deed of Settlement or Deed of 
Gift to be the voluntary gift and deed of JONY CHRISTIAN, 
before me Dan Mcylrea.        

RAMSEY FEBRUARY 8TH 1716/17: 
THIS DEED OF GIFT being proved before the Deemster is 
accepted for the last Will of JONY CHRISTIAN ALIAS KERRUISH, 
& WILLIAM KERRUISH is sworn in Court in form of Law, who 
has consented that all the goods and effects given in a 
former Deed of Gift to WILLIAM CHRISTIAN & HIS DAUGHTERS 
shall be theirs, as the said Deed mentions, bearing Date 
June the 27th 1715, and confirmed by the Temporal Officers 
xxxxxx mutually agreed upon by all partners concerned xxxx, 
in penalty of twoo hundred pounds in the nature of xxx fines.  
Acceptum est & Solvit.  
Pledges to secure the office and pay all debts are 
ROBERT KERRUISH & WILLIAM KERRUISH.        

JANUARY 25TH 1717/18: 
ROBERT CHRISTIAN in behalf of himself his BROTHERS WILLIAM & 
EWAN CHRISTIAN enters a claim against the Executor or 
Administrator of JONY CHRISTIAN ALS KERRUISH for the sum 
of 30 pounds and craves the Law
