                     Maughold        1718
		
		In the name of God, amen

William Loonny in the parish of  KK Maughold who departed
this life the eighteene day of July in the year of our Lord god
1718 one thousand seven hundred & eighteene being very sick
in Body and weak but of perfect mind and memory thanks be
given to God therefore, Calling to mind the mortallaty of his body
and knowing that it is apointed for all men once to dye, do make
and ordain this his last will and testament, that is to say prin -
cipally and first of all I give and Recomend my Soul unto the
hands of god that gave itt and for my body I recomend itt to 
the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner
at the discretion of my Executors, nothing douting but at the general
resurrection it shall receive the same again by the mighty power
of god and as touching such worly good estate it hath pleased 
god to bless me with in this life I give and bequeath and dispose
of the same in the following manner and form
     First I bequeath to my son John all my houses and Craft
and Crop of corn & fishing lines and nets and all husban
dry gears and housall vesils with sheets and blankets and his
Cloths with his part of the Curraugh and the sheep which was 
named on him before to John and John is to give his brother Willm
four Shill: and a garment, and if the Curraugh all falls to John
during his life he is to give William twenty shillings and his part
of the big chest, licknis to John, and the mare that was in the 
mountains betwixt John and Betty & the cow betwixt John and
William and his part of the mare betwixt him self and Will: Quail
to his son William & the sheep that was named on William before
to himself - and to his daughter Ann a chest & half a wheel and the
Sheep that was named on her before to herself --- and to his
daughter Margary a Chest and a ewe and a lamb that is in Balnegory
and a petty cote & a wastcot & a smock -- and to his daughter Betty ewe
that is at Will: Quails and a lamb that is in Ballyfaile and sixpence
a peice Legacey to his three daughters -- and the rest of the sheep
                        wife 
not before menconed to my^, Jonny, and if John dye Childless
William is to enjoy all what right John hath by this will, and if
William dye underage John is to enjoy his goods - and my son John
overseere over the rest of the children and an Exectore
of all goods movable and unmovable whatsoever Cleereing
and paying all debts and Charges
and further if William be masterfull and not stay and learn
a traid as his neighbours seeth John is not to give him the
twenty shillings above menconed

        The goods of the three Children under age are in
        the hands of the Execr, who hath given
        pledges the Witnesses

        The sheep & cattle left to the Children under
        age, are to …..  for their advantage without
        any prisement

This to be the Sprituall Curt before [Ballantine] last the will of
William Loonny was delivered in the Curt in the KK Christ Church
and you wanted the price of the goods that was left to the
Children under age namely William and Betty and this
is the value of the goods as they ware prised William part
is eight Shillings and Betty part five Shillings as for the rest of
the Children they are at age and this is what will be maid
good by the prisers of the sd goods, namely
