9 Ryshen, April 11, 1719 In the name of God, Amen. I William Kelley of BallaChurrey in the Parish of Trinity Ryshen, being stricken in years and weak in body, yet thanks to by Creator, of sound mind and perfect memory, do make this my last will and testament, in matter and form as it is hereafter expressed. First, I commit my soul to God, as into the Hands of a merciful Creator, hoping by the all sufficient satisfaction of my blessed Redeemer, to obtain full remission of all my sins; and my body I commit to the care of my wife and children to be decently buried after the Christian way. Secondly, as for the worldly things wherewith God has blessed me, I leave and bequeath them, as it is specified in the following articles. I leave and bequeath to the most necessitous objects of charge within the said Parish seven Kizans of clean barley to be distributed among them at the discretion of my Pastor. Item, I leave unto my beloved wife half of a young horse, half a cow, half of one mare, and half an ox. Item, I leave to my son John Kelley half of 2 ladders, half of all the old timber that lies within and about the houses, that’s not yet put to any use, half of 2 pair of plow irons, and half of all the husbandry gears, provided he exacts no corbs of my Executrices, and not otherwise. Item, I leave unto my daughter Margaret Waterson two shillings legacy. Item, to my daughter Ann Taylor a blanket. To five of her children twelve pence apiece legacy. And to her eldest son John Taylor I leave my saddle. Item, I leave to the 2 children of my daughter Jane Qualtrough 2 shillings apiece. Lastly, I do appoint and constitute my two daughters, vizt., Elinor & Katharine joint Executrices of all the rest of my effects moveable and immoveable whatsoever.
