3         Onchan

This is affirmed to be ye last will and Testament of Patrick Caine
who departed this life ye 28th March last who, being in perfect 
memory committed his soul to God & his Body to Christian Burial. 
He left ye poor half a firlet of Meal. To his son Thos a cow, 
a Kear Heifer three years old twenty shills & eight sheep. 
To his son John two suits of Cloathes & forty shills. 
To his daughter Mary Twenty shills.
He declared yt Daniel Cain of K. Michael owed him five & twenty 
shillins, & Robt Kinley, Ballaquayle eight shills & five pence. 
He also declared yt Tho Kerryn his son-in-law was fully paid 
what portion he promised him with his daughter & four shills over 
& above, for which he said he had a paper in the house signifying
the same. He left his wife her part of ye riding horse. 
He left the Minister a Mutton.
He nominated said & appointed his three sons viz. Wm, Thos & Peter
sole & joynt Excrs of all ye rest of his Goods moveable and 
mmovable whatsoever.
                                          
Peter being absent Wm, Thos are sworn in Court in form of law & 
also to be true & faithful to their brother.                                    

Peter's Goods are in ye Mother's hands, who has given Pledges, 
James Christian and Robt Christian.

March 27 1721 Thomas Kerryn junior of K. Michael enters a claim 
agst the Excrs of Patrick Caine for 40 s. and craves ye Law. 
He also enters for a half a quarter of ye Crops in his ------ 
for his own & wifes Dyeth till ye arrived at the age of 25 years.

March ye 3rd. 1721 This day Thomas Kerryn came to ye Record & 
acknowledged himself upon ye Receipt of thirteen shills from ye 
hands of his Brother in Law Wm Caine to be fully paid & satisfied 
as well in what might be due to him by ye last will of his Father 
in Law Patrick Caine & does hereby acquit & ------ & discharge ye
Excrs of his Father in Law's s'd Admins of his Brother in Law Peter 
aforesaid for ever. And this in ye penalty of fourty shills in & 
Nature of all fines as witnesses his mark to his name & year & 
day above written.
