       Jan 30th 1721
Wm Callow of KK Maughold aged upwards
of eighty years declare & deposes upon oath, that
he knew one John Kinred of KK Christ Lezayre
who was Brother to Thomas Kinred of the sd parish
and likewise that he knew their sister Isabel Kinred
who was married to Wm Stole of KK Maughold, &
that the above John Kinred was generally nick=
=named John Slavin, & afterwards that being
press'd by one Whalley call'd great Whalley of Cas=
=tletown; he went from this Island in ye army
wth the late Rt Honrble James Earl of Derby, &
he never heard that he return'd to ye Island again.
And as further testimony that ye Deponent
knew and was very well acquainted wth this same
John Kinred, he give the two foll: instances upon
oath. First that the sd John Kinred made court=
=ship to the Depondnt aunt, Isabel Cottiam, &
after he was gone off the Island, that he had seen
her weeping for him, & he also saw his own bro=
=ther thomas Kinred shed tears for him.  The
other instance is that the Deponent was one day
in the Mountains wth the sd John Kinred & mar=
=gt Kirmeen (who was afterwards married to John
Callow of Bal ne skeg) wth many more gathering
heath Corries, & that the sd John Kinred ran after
Margt Kirmeen aforesd, & by her speedy running
away from him, her foot was cut wth a sharp
stone so severly, that she cou'd not go herself,
but was carryed by people into Cornah=house.

The above Deposition is taken
in ye house of Wm Callow (in
respect of his age & infirmities)
this 30th day of January 1721.

             Jourby, before the Revd Mr Wm Walker
             Vicr Genll, & the Revd Mr Chas Watle=
             =worth Official. May 31 1722
             
   Whereas upon a rumor of one John Kinread
dying in Ireland some years ago intestate & without
issue, William Stole of KK Maughold for himself and
the other next relations has made Application to this
Court, desiring to take Administration of the sd Deceadts
effects. And forasmuch as by the annex'd Oath of
William Callow it appears, that one John Kinread
went out of this Island many years agoe in Earl
James's Service, & that he was Brother to Isabel Kin=
=read mother of William Stole aforesaid; the Court
does therefore Decree the sd Willm Stole, together
with two other sister's children, vizt Isabel Qualtrough
als Credgeen, and Margt Cotter als Goldsmith joynt
Admrs of all his goods & effects movable & immova=
=ble whatever; And thereupon Will: Stole one of the
sd Admrs is sworn in Court, and has given pledges
seuendum forman legis, the Revd Mr Kenry Allen
Vicar of Lezayre, and Wm Thomas Clerk jnr of
Jourby.

John Kinread of Bolly-Glass in Lezayre who
was listed as a soldr & went off the Island many
yers ago, in Earl James's service, departed this
life intestate, whereupon the court has, after
taking the annex'd depositions, & all due enquiry
being made, decreed the next of kindred, vizt
Gilbt, Margt, Isabel, Averick, Mary, Averick &
Margt Kinread, together with ellinr & cath:
Stephan, Wm Quayle, Esther Coghan, David
Quayle, John, Cath & Margt Calow, John Nicholas
& Wm Cowley, & also Jony, Isabel & Bahy Caly, joint
Administrs of all his good & chattels moveable &
unmoveabel whatsoever. Eleven of the sd Admrs
Gilbt Margt Mary Averick & Margt Kinred, with
John Tear husband of Isabel Kinread, also David
Quayle, Wm Creer husband of Cath: Stephan, John
Calow, Wm Quayle & Jony Caly are sworn in Court
in form of Law, & have given pledges Mr. Henry
Norris of KK Michael & John Garret of Balla=
Cottier in Lezayre.

I finde by ye Register Book of KK Maughall that Isabell
Stole alit Kinread of KK Christ Lezayre came to KK Maughall
and was maryed there to one Wm Stole by whom she had two
sons vizt John who is now dead and Wm her only son now
living. The said Isabell Stole aliter Kinread dyed and was
buryed in KK Maughall ye 22 of Novr 1681. this is
certified for truth by me
