142 Ballaugh 1724
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Jony Cross als
Kelly made and declared in November 1723.
She departed this life ye 15th December being in perfect mind and
memory at the making hereof.
IMP: She committed her soul to God and body to Christian burial.
Item: She with the consent of her husband Michael Cross bequeathed to
their son John Cross and his wife Jane Cross als Cannell the croft
wherein they lived as it is - fenced already, during the life of the
longest liver of them and in case the said Croft should be claimed into
and sued for, and the said John and his wife deprived thereof, they were
then to receive twenty shillings of the ----- of ------ that should
recover the same.
Item: She declared she and her husband aforesaid owed their son Michael
Cross a sum of money, which they borrowed to buy an ox which ox she
with the consent of her said husband also left to pay ye said Michael .
Item: She left to her grandson Michael Cain a yearling and to her
granddaughter Mary Cain a sheep.
Item: She left to her daughter Kath Cross a bowl of Barley with a bowle
of meal corn which her said husband should give her, and himself to have the
remaining part of her crop of corn during his life, in consideration
that he gave her his consent to surrender all what he should have at the
last day (as she did) to Katherine aforesaid in case she should abide with
him and look to him, during this natural life.
Item: She left to her daughter Kath aforesaid a new chist and the use
thereof to be equally betwixt her and her father Michael Cross aforesaid
during this life and after his death to return to the said Kath to which he
did condescend.
Item: She left six pence legacy to any person that should claim right to
any part of her goods to be cut off therewith.
Item: She left to the witnesses of her will six pence a piece.
Lastly she nominated and appointed her loving daughter Katherine
aforesaid to be sole executirx of all the rest of her goods.

December 16, 1725 Jon Cain enters a claim against the executrix of
Joney Cross for the sum of forty pounds and crave the law.
