In the name of God Amen.
I John Cosnahan Vicar of St Anne's parish thirty four years being weak in
body but of sound and perfect memory blessed be God for it, do make this my
last will and testament as follows:
First I commit my soul to Almighty God my Creator, in an also hope of pardon
and mercy for my sins past and a joyful resurrection at the last day through
the moiety and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ and ordering my body to be decently buried under the great stone
in St Anne's Church Yard.
Item I leave to the Poor of the Parish one bowl of barley.
Item I leave to my eldest son all my books, Greek, Latin and English
provided he is to let my younger son Hugh to read and use them during his
going to school.
Item I leave to my son Charles forty shillings legacy.
Item I leave to my son Hugh forty shillings legacy.
Item To my daughter Katherine forty shillings legacy.
Item to my daughter Ann forty shillings legacy.
Item to my daughter Margaret forty shillings legacy.
Item I ordain constitute and appoint my loving wife whole and sole
executrix of all the rest of my goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever to
the end she may prove kind to my four children viz Hugh, Katherine, Anne and
Margaret before mentioned leaving her to dispose of the said goods to the
said children according as she sees fit with the consent of the supervisor.
Lastly I ordain and appoint my eldest son John Cosnahan Vicar of KK
Lonan and Mr Robert Cæsar of Ballakick supervisors of my younger children.
The within will signed with my own hand in the presence of the
subscribed witnesses this 8th of April 1724.
