The last will and testament of John Ratcliffe who departed
this life Jann 4th 1726, being of perfect mind and memory at the
making thereof. First, he committed his soul to God, and his body
to Christian burial. Item, he left to his son James Ratcliffe twenty
shillings that he owed the Testator, the new chest that was in the house and
the cropp, with all the utensils belonging to the house, and the brick kiln.
Item, he left to his said son’s wife an heifer, and she to pay two shillings
to the children to his daughter Alice. Item, he left to his daugt Alice a
feather bed, boulster, two blankets, and an old fledge. Lastly, he no=
minated and appointed his son Richard Ratcliffe sole Exec of
all the rest of his goods moveable, and immoveable whatsoever.
To the witnesses of the will 6d each.
