7     Braddan   April the 15th 1729
The last will of MITCHEL HOWLAN who was buried the day and year 
above, being in good mind and perfect memory at the making thereof, 
having committed his soul to God, and his body to Christian burial, 
he deposed of his worldly effects as followeth.  
Item, he left and bequeathed to his YOUNGER SON WILLIAM half dossen 
sheep male and female as they were with their lambs if there were 
any, with half a mare colt.  
Item, he left to his DAUGHTER CHRISTIAN half dossen sheep in the 
same manner as they were left to HER BROTHER WILLIAM aforesaid.  
Item, he left to his GRANDCHILD a sheep and lamb, and his part 
of a new chest.  
Item, he constituted and appointed his FIVE CHILDREN vizt., 
ISABEL, DAVID, CHRISTIAN, JOHN, & WILLIAM HOWLAN joint 
Executors of the remaining part of all his goods moveable 
and unmoveable whasoever.  
Item, he declared that John Corras owed him fifty and two shillings.  
Item, he declared he had wrought for Capn Oates nine dayes at 
KK Conchan, and seven Dayes at Douglas.  
Item, he xxxx that William Oates owed him 3 shillings, and 
John Coultry 2 shillings, and that there was 1 pence due to 
Sharles Killey for iron and haits[?].  
Witnesses, 
John Lewn, 
Anthony Kermine, jurati.            

ISABEL, THE ELDEST DAUGHTER and one of the Executors is 
sworn in Court in form of Law and gave pledges, 
William Corled] & John Lewn.  
Probatum est & Solvit 8d.           

MARCH 21, 1729: THOMAS MCYLREA enters against the Executors 
of MITCHELL HOWLAND for 6s 2d and crave the Law
