In the name of God, amen. I Henry Norris of 
Liargybreck in the Parish above and sick and 
weak in body but of sound and perfect mind 
and memory, blessed be God, do make my last 
will and testament in manner following this 
10th day of December 1728, vizt.: 
First, I commend my soul to God and my body 
to Christian burial. 
Item, I leave to my dear and loving wife the gold
ring as legacy. 
Item, to my eldest son and heir Henry Norris 
I leave all my guns and fowling pieces.
Item, to my father in law John Cannel my riding coat. 
Item, I leave to my said son Henry and son
John all my clothes of what sort soever, to 
be applied to their use so soon as they shall have
occasion for the same. 
Item, I nominate constitute and appoint my 
three children John, Christian & Margaret Norris 
joint Executors of all the rest of my goods 
and effects whatsoever, with the condition 
that if it shall please God that any one or 
more of my said four children die, whosoever of
them shall be the heir shall have only the 
above legacy left to the heir, vizt, the 
fowling pieces, without any part of the Executorship. 
And lastly, I commit the tuition of my said 
children with their goods to my loving wife 
aforesaid if she shall please it may be so, 
requesting the Rev. Doctor Walker Rector
of Ballaugh and Mr. Woods Curate of this 
Parish to be guardians of my said children.

The Executors being under age, the Revnd Mr. Woods 
and the mother are sworn supervisors. There
being another child vizt Robert born since the making 
of the will, he is joined Executor with the other
three children. The children and their goods in 
the mother’s hands, who is to bring in an Inventory
and to pay all debts and legacies according to Law. 
The Inventory and Pledges next Court. 
Pledges given by the mother in form of Law are 
the Revnd Mr. John Woods of KK Michael and 
John Kewley the Clerk
