    60     KK Braddan 1732

The last Will and Testament of Captain Paul Gelling of the 
parish KK Braddan, who departed this life on the second 
day of January 1732/3 is in the following manner --  
He being very weak in body but of Perfect mind and 
memory first committed his soul to God; and next his Mortal 
body to the Earth, and to be Buried after a decent Christian
manner. And as for such worldly Effects that God was pleas'd 
to endue him with he bequeathed them as followeth --
  
Imprimis he bequeathed unto his beloved wife Ellinor Gelling
als Taubman five shillings.  Item he bequeathed unto his 
son John Gelling five shillings.  Item he bequeathed unto 
his son Richard Gelling five shillings. Item he bequeathed 
unto his daughter Ann Gelling five shillings, and lastly 
he nominated constituted and ordained his two Children 
viz'tThomas Gelling and Mary Cannon als Gelling 
whole and sole Executors Jointly of all the rest of his Effects 
moveable and immoveable, and if in Case that any person 
claimed title to his Effects or any part of them he Cut any 
such claimer off with six pence apiece Legacy w'ch he order'd 
his said Executors to pay.  This we affirm to be the last 
Will and Testament of the before mentioned Paul Gelling 
witness our hands this 12th of January 1732/3.

    The Exec'rs Sworn in Court in form of Law, & have given 
    pledges Thos Cannell & Chas Moore of Douglas.
