The last will and testamt of Margret Christian
als Joughin who departed this life March the
21st 1731, being in perfect mind and memory
at the making thereof. First, she committed her
soul unto God and her body to Christian burial.
It, She left to her son Thomas Christian a
bowle of barley, suit of bedclothes, a heifer in
Ballaugh, a waistcoat of Flax and five shillings
in money.
It, to her daughter Mrgt a suit of linen, a brown
or red petticoat with her sleves and stockings.
Itm, to her daughter Eliz: a suit of linnnen and
a petticoat, and the rest of her clothing to her
daughter Mary.
Itm, to Margt children a sheep and a lamb.
Itm, to Eliz: children a sheep and lamb.
To Mary’s children a hog or yearling ewe.
To her son Willm’s children a sheep and lamb.
Itm, to her son David and daughter Issabel
ten shillings apiece.
Itm, the cow bought at St Andrews last to her
son Wm and son in law John Tear betwixe them.
Itm, she ordained and appointed her son Willm
and daughters Mary and Eliz: joint Execrs of
all the rest of her goods. To the minister a
mutton and to Dan: Joughin a shilling.

The Execrs vixt Wm and the husbands of Mary
& Eliza: are sworn in Court in form of Law.

Pledges are Philip Corlett broughjarg for Jon.
Corris & Jon. Tear, Danl Joughin pledge for Wm.
30th Octobr 1732:
John Corris enters a claim agt Wm Christian one
of the Execrs of Margt Xtian als Joughen for the
lamb of five pounds being part of the portion
promised by sd Margt & Craves the Law.
30th Octobr 1732:
John Tear enters a claim against Wm Christian one
of the Execrs of Margt Xtian als Joughen for the sum
of six pounds being part of the portion promised in
marriage contract by the sd Margt.
11th NOvr 1732:
Wm Christian enters a claim agt the Execrs of Margt
Christian als Joughen for the sum of six pounds eight
shills & seven pence half penny &c.
April 3d 1733:
Patrick Kewish of Ballaugh enters a claim agt the
Excrs of Margt Xtian als Joughen for the sum of 1 pound 11 shillings 6 pence & craves the Law
