In the name of God, amen. I Margaret Genest als Garret 
wife unto Lewis Geneste in the town of Douglas being 
sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory do 
make my last will and testament in manner as follows. 
First, I commend my soul to God, hoping that through 
the merits of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to have 
pardon and full remission of all my sins, and next I 
recommend my body to te earth and to be buried after 
a decent Christian manner in the Churyard of KK Christ 
Rushen, and as for such worldly goods as God has been 
pleased to bless me with I bequeath them in the 
following manner. 
Imprimis, I bequeath to my two beloved sisters vizt. 
Emmy and Margary Garret all my woolen and linen apparel 
equally betwixt them both. 
Item, I bequeath six pence legacy apiece unto my other 
relation that can or will claim any right to any of my 
effects. 
Item, I bequeath unto my beloved husband Lewis Genest 
all the rest of my effects moveable and unmoveable or 
of what kind soever, and do hereby ordain constitute 
nominate and appoint him to see me buried as aforesaid 
in the said Churchyard. 
This I affirm to be my last will and testament witness 
my hard this 9th day of April 1733.
