Kk Maughould 29th May 1733
William Corteene of Tallow Queen being sick
in Body but of perfect memory did require and Charge
me William Kerush to wittness that if the sd
Corteene died in that sickness that he left and
bequeathed unto his Eldest son John Corteen the
half of the Crop of Corn, half the Teame, and half
the Husbandry Gears, saying and Confessing that he
had promised Twenty shillings in an Agreement
to his Daughter Jane made between them, and that
he left her six pence Legacy to cut her of from hav
ing any share of the rest of the goods with the rest of
the Children, leaving and apointing all the rest of
his goods of what kind or nature soever equally between
the rest of his Children requiring me to remember
and witness the same least he shd not have time
to live to make a formal will as witnessd by me
the day of date above written

At a Consistory Court held in St Jons Chappel 9th July 1733
Willm Kerruish has proved the above Will, And
there being no other Witness, the same is accepted
with the Consent of Ellinr, Margt & Isabel Corteen
the Children at Age, With this further Condition
that the Crop, Team & husbandry gears are to
be prized, besides the other goods belonging to
the Decedent, And the proportion of the Children
Under Age to be forthcoming, to which
end the Widow & the Eldest Son have same
committed unto them, and wth the foresd Children
at age are sworn in form of Law.
Probatis est, & Solvit
The right of Jane, a daughter
by a former wife, is particularly
reserv'd
Pledges Robt Curlot of Lezayre
& Wm Keruish the Witness
of the Will.
The Childrens names are Ellin, Alice,
Margt, Isabel, Gilbt, Wm, Cath &
Esther Corteen.
Beside the Heir Jo: Corteen
June 13 1738. The Goods of Ellin & Alice
are in the hands of their Brother John
Corteen, who gave Pledges Jo: Kelly of Knock
Shurragh, & Tho: Cubon of Balla Cray,
both in Kk Arbory.
June 20 1733
Then receiv'd from Cathrine Corteen Widow the
above twenty shill left me as agreement
in the said will

There is an extensive inventory with this will.
The goods can be easily read but the values are unclear.
Aug 2 1746 Margt Corteen one of the Children of Wm Corteen
acknowledges to be paid & Satisfy'd in full for the share of Goods
due to her by the Decease of her sd Father & Acquits all
persons concern'd of the same for ever. before me
