22       KK Bride, January the 6th 1735/6
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of 
WILLIAM HOWLAN who departed this life about the 15th 
of December last being at perfect mind and memory at 
making of same.  
First he committed his soul to God and his body 
to Christian burial.  
Item, he left to his SON JOHN HOWLAN all his shaped 
clothes, excepting a vest and a pair of breetches he 
left to his SON WILLIAM HOWLAN. He left also to his 
said SON WILLIAM a rug.  
He left to his DAUGHTER CHRISTIAN HOWLAN a sheep and 
a blanket.  
He left to his GRANDDAUGHTER MAREY COTTERE a sheep 
and some wool he had in the house of his DAUGHTER 
CATHRINE to make her clothes of the same.  
He left to his DAUGHTER CATHRINE HOWLAN the board 
in his bed side and that his SON JOHN is to have 
no right in it.  
He left in his will that JOHN COWLE of Ballevarkis 
owed him one and twenty shillings.  
He left to the witnesses of his will 7 pence piece.  
Lastly, he nominated and appointed his DAUGHTER 
CATHRINE HOWLAN sole Executrix of all the rest of 
his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever.

Margret Kneale als Howlan, 
Ann Lace als Christian.            

KK BRIDE MAY 18 1736
MARGT. KNEAL ALS HOWLAND one of the witnesses of the 
within will (the other witness present) made voluntary 
oath on her sick bed, and as we supposed (in articulo 
mortis) that the same is the last will and testament 
of WM HOWLAND, and that he was of good mind and memory 
at the making thereof.

Probatum est & Solvit 12d.            

SWORN IN COURT THIS 25TH MAY 1736 in form of Law: 
The Executrix sworn to pay the debts and legacies 
of the Testator according to Law and has given 
pledges William Cowle Shellag and John Cowle ny Creggen
