Jo Qualtrough departed this life about the 4th of
Jan. last  intestate, whereas the Court has 
decreed his 2 children Esther & Edwd. Qualtrough 
sole & joint ……..of all his Goods and Chattles
whatsoever – Wm & Ann Qualtrough the Uncle &
Aunt overseers & a legacy to the widow on Light 
of the Inventory.

The Posthume is baptized John
The Goods are in the overseers hands who
gave Pledges Matth Maddrel & Wm Keig.

agt the Admrs of his Brother Jo Qualtrough

Less funeral charges which includes 
“Half his Brother Wm Qualtroughs claim proved 10s. 00d”

Arbory 1738

Whereas John Qualtrough of KK Arbory having about Christmas 
last Dyed Intestate, whereby vs. Wm Qualtrough his Brother and
Ann Qualtrough his Sister were sworn Supervisors of his children
And thereby obliged to maintain some of them.  And to acquit 
us thereof we the sd Wm & Ann Qualtrough have agreed with the
sd John Qualtroughs widow Margt Qualtrough in manner and
form following viz.  that the sd Wm Qualtrough  & Ann
Qualtrough do hereby surrender transfer and quitt claim to
all & every the Effects goods & Creditts of their brother in
any w… whatsoever that now or anyway hereafter they may or
can be Intilled ? thereunto unto her the sd Margt Qualtrough.
besides paying unto her the sum of twenty shillings for the
nursing of the youngest child viz. ten shillings within
a fortnights time & the other ten shillings when another
Quarter of a years nursing becomes due, and are further 
obliged to Sell the sd Pswod (??difficult to read) apparel and whatsoever sum of
money the same is sold for to pay the same unto her the
sd Margt Qualtrough widow.  In consideration whereof
the sd Margt Qualtrough doth hereby bind and oblige her
self to Educate and maintain the said children of her said
husband for the future without troubling them the said Wm
Qualtrough and Ann his sister or either of them for the
subsistence or maintenance of any of the sd children for
the time to come.  And for performance hereof all partys
bind and oblige themselves.  Heirs Exectrs admst & af…….??
penalty & fforfeiture of ten pounds sterl to be conveyed and 
paid according to Law.  Witness their subscriptions this
17th Octr 1738.
