14 KK Malew, June 1st 1739 This is affirmed to be the last will of Catherine Qualtrough als Tear, who departed this life about the 26th of March last. Imprimis, she committed her soul to God, and her body to Christian burial. Item, she left her part of the house, garden and flat in Ballasalley to her husband Thomas Qualtrough, and after her husband’s decease to descent to her daughter Margaret Qualtrough together with a feather bed and bed clothes. Item, she left to Isabel Shimmin twenty shillings legacy for wages. Item, she declared that if her aforesaid daughter should die before her husband, the said house, garden and flat, together with the feather bed and bed clothes should fall to him, and cut off any of her relations claiming a right to her goods with six pence legacy. Lastly, she left all the rest of her goods to her daughter Margaret Qualtrough. Witnesses: Isabel Shimmin her mark X, Cath: Quiney her mark X, juratie. Margaret the Executrix being absent, the father is sworn in her behalf for the payment of the debts and legacies according to Law, as also to be just to the Executrix.
