The last Will and Testament of Cath: Cowll, als 
Christian, made Aprll 13th 1740.     
Imprs, She comitted her soul to God and body 
to Christian burial.    
Itm, she left and bequeathed to her two daughters, 
Elinr & Bessy, otherwise Elizabeth, five pounds apiece.    
Itm to Patt: her son twenty shillings, together 
with twenty shillings more due to his master (as prentice fee)    
Itm to her son James forty shillings, and a sheep 
and lamb; & another sheep and lamb to her sd son Patt:    
Itm to her son John her part of the boate, and all 
her part of the husbandry gears, he paying five 
shillings to his sister Cathrine.    
Itm she left all her clothes to her two daughters 
Elinor and Bessy, and her linen clothes wholy to 
her daughter Bessy.    
Itm to her sister Isabel a red petticoat.   
She further bequeath’s to her sd two daughters the worsted yarn.   
Itm To her son Charles a bowll of barley.    
Itm she left to her cousin Joney Cowl a tub of wheat agt Chrisms.    
Lastly she constituted and appointed her loving husbd 
Jon: Cowll whole & sole Execr of all the rest of her 
goods movable & unmovable whatsoever, and to the 
witnesses of her will twelve pence apeice.

Matth: Curghey, jurati.

The Exr is sworn in Court in form of Law.   
Ellinr one of the Legatees makes an abatemt of twenty 
shills in her Legacy.   
Pledges for paymt of Debts & Legacys are Jon: Xtian B:Quark 
& Arthur Cowle.

Capt Wm: Christian enters a claim agt the Execr of Cath: Cowle for £0 : 8 : 3

Decr 12, 1755:  
Elizabeth Cowll now wife of Willm Saul, and the sd Saul 
came this day to the Registry & acknowledged to have 
received from their father John Cowle a certain obligation 
of equal date herewith for the payment of £2:13-- & some 
Barly & meal to be pd as set forth in sd obligation.   
In consideration whereof the sd Saul & Elizth his wife 
do hereby acquit & discharge their sd father John Cowle 
his Excr Admrs & Assigns forever for the sum of five 
pounds bequeathed the sd Elizth by her mother Cath: 
Cowle als Christian.  
Witness their subscription the day & dat above menconed.
