The Last Will & Testament of Adam McBooy of the 
parish of KK Michael, who departed this life about 
the 3rd.of Ffeb.1741, And being of perfect mind & memory 
at the making hereof ~ First he committed his 
Soul to God and Body to Christian Burial ~ Item 
He declaired that he had not taken any money for the 
Croft, and in Case the man that had the Bargain 
should share wth.his son Adam consisting yl.sd.Croft 
He left the price of ye.same vizsixteen pounds to his 
sd.son Adam McBooy. Item The Testatator being ask'd by 
Dollin Caine one of the witnesses whether he sold ye.Croft 
in an intent that his son John should have the same 
the Testator reply'd in express words that he did so, ex
pecting that his sd.son should marry & get a wife to take 
Legacy, but in Case his sd.son should come to the 
Island in a poor condition, either by sickness or poverty 
He left ye.his sd.son Adam should give him twenty 
shills.and said to his sd.son Adam at yl.same time, you 
may give it him, for you'l have the Croft. Item He 
left to his two daughters Cath& Anne six pence apiece 
Legacy ~ Item He left the Furrow of Corn to his 
te\wo sons Adam & Jon. ~ Item to the witnesses of his 
Will six pence each. And Lastly he nominated & 
appointed his three sons, vizAdam, Willm. & Jon. 
McBooy sole & Joint Exes.of all the rest of his 
Goods, Movable & immovable whatsoever ~ 
               The testator also declared yl.Thos.Sayle 
Testos    | Dollin Caine   |  owed him abt.four shills.wch.with 
     | Ralph Cannel |    twelve shills.more would very near 
     ~ Jurati ~     pay Mr.Moore. Also yl.Jon Croghan 
               owed him a guinea of wch.Ann Quayle 
               blind girl was to have his only shills. 
               & yl.other 4-6 to be expended at his own 
               ffuneral ~ Also yl.there was 9d.due to 
               Sittletons wife of wch.his part was 4 1/2 ~ 

At a Consistory Court in Bishops 
Court ~ Feb18.1741.~ 
Wm.and John McBooy two of the Exrs. 
Named in this Will being Absent ~ Claim 
the othr.Exr.is Sworn in form of Law 
as also to be just to his CoExer. ~ 
And has given pledges Vizt.~Thos.Caine 
& John Caine Bahee. ~
