The last will and testament of Mary Gelling als 
Shimmin of ye said parish, who departed this 
life about ye 21st day of March 1740/41.  
First she bequeathed her soul to God and her 
body to ye earth.  
Itm she bequeathed to her son William ye Croft.  
Itm, She bequeathed unto her daughter twenty 
shillings legacy and if she would not be satisfied 
with that that she was to have but six pence.  
Itm, She desired ye said Wm to give unto her 
grandson Alexander ten shillings if he was 
willing, and said what was he but poor, and 
lastly she appointed her said son William 
Executor of all ye rest of her goods whatsoever.

                   At a consistory Court at 
                   Castletown May 29th 1741
The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law 
and has given pledges the witnesses of the Will.
